Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' "Project Thank You" Shows Support to U.S. Military

Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois' Nut, Candy & Magazine (NCM) Program helps troops raise funds for special activities, trips and community service projects.  It also allows girls to get hands-on experience in valuable skills such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.
GSSI's NCM Program runs from Sept. 20-Oct. 11.  Along with raising funds and developing lifelong skills and confidence, GSSI Girl Scouts are also reaching out to military members though the program.  Through “Project Thank You” Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois will deliver donated Girl Scout honey roasted peanuts to thank service members who serve our country.
Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate in this program by asking each of their customers if they would like to donate $5 (Honey Roasted Peanuts cost) to our “Project Thank you” program.  If a customer would like to donate a can of nuts, girls will collect the payment and mark their order card with the donation.   GSSI will then ensure that the gifts are received by U.S. service members as a token of appreciation from their friends and neighbors in southern Illinois.
