Digital Cookie 2.0 is Coming to Southern Illinois

For just the second year in history, Girl Scouts can sell cookies online!  Along with the five essential skills that Girl Scout Product Programs develop (goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics), girls will learn valuable lessons about online marketing and ecommerce through the Digital Cookie 2.0 platform.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is still girl-led!  Through Digital Cookie, along with traditional order taking and booth sales, girls initiate the sale with customers. On the Digital Cookie platform, girls personalize their own cookie website and share a link with customers through e-mail.   Customers can have cookies delivered to their house or even make a donation to GSSI's Gift of Caring campaign, which sends Girl Scout Cookies to current and veteran American military members.

What's New in Digital Cookie 2.0?
The latest release of Digital Cookie is a more robust, hands-on, and entertaining learning experience. With an enhanced cookie website, fun quizzes, games, videos, and other activities, girls learn about marketing, budgeting, resource allocation, and other business skills on their way to cookie success. Girls can set their cookie goals, track their progress, manage orders and inventory, learn Internet safety skills, and more—all while they earn age-specific Cookie Business badges and explore ways to help others by investing their earnings back into their communities.

GSSI Girl Scouts can sell cookies through the Digital Cookie platform through March 13. To find a Girl Scout in your area, call 800.345.6858 or click here

If you are a Girl Scout who would like to sign up for Digital Cookie, please have a parent or guardian send their e-mail address to our Product Program team at NutsAndCookies@gsofsi.org.

Missed the Initial Order of Toffee Tastic Cookies? Here's How You Can Get Some

Toffee-Tastic Cookie in High Demand! Missed the Initial Order? Here's a Chance to Get Up to 5 Cases

Because the new gluten-free cookie is a pilot cookie for our baker Little Brownie Bakers, both troops and councils needed to pre-order it. A survey went out in August, and based on that response, GSSI has an extra 240 cases of Toffee-Tastic. Any troop that did not order Toffee-Tastic cookies that wants to purchase some from the extra stock will have a chance to purchase up ...to 5 cases. Area cupboards WILL NOT have extra Toffee-Tastic cookies available to pick up. If you did order Toffee-Tastic cookies, your order will come in with the rest of your cookies.
How can Troops get Toffee-Tastic
Please complete the survey below to order from GSSI’s extra inventory. This survey will open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 and is first-come, first serve. The survey will close when the available cookies are gone. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HK5FZZT

Please note: If your troop ordered Toffee-Tastic cookies in August, you do not need to order them again. We have your order and it will be fulfilled. Also, customers will be able to order Toffee-Tastic cookies through the Digital Cookie platform until Little Brownie Baker sells out.

What Troop Leaders Need to Know About the "Goal Getter" Campaign

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is off to a strong start in Southern Illinois!  While traditional order taking ended on Jan. 31, girls can still participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program in a variety of ways.  One campaign that allows girls to continue working towards their goals is Goal Getter.

Goal Getter runs Feb. 1-15 (between traditional order taking and Cookie Booths) and is intended to help girls reach their goals and desired reward level by allowing them to keep selling up to Cookie Booth weekends. Goal Getter cards will be distributed from the Troop Leader to the Girl Scout when the traditional order cards are turned in. All sales the girls make during this time period will go towards the rewards they can earn. Girls can use this opportunity to:

• Help themselves advance to the next reward level.
• Contact those customers they may have missed during initial order taking.
• Brainstorm with their troop to find new customers.
• Promote the Gift of Caring program: "Operation Sweet Treats"

This is an additional way to help Troops deplete their cookie inventory as cookies sold through Goal Getter are distributed out of Cookie Booth inventory. The cookies sold during this time frame need to be recorded into eBudde under the “Other” column in the Girl Orders tab.

Other ways girls can still participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program:

Selling online through the Digital Cookie platform.  Digital Cookie is open until March 15.  If a girl in your troop would like to participate, please have her parent or guardian send their e-mail address to NutsAndCookies@gsofsi.org.

Selling with her troop at a Cookie Booth.  Council-wide Cookie Booth Weekends are Feb. 27-March 1, March 6-8 and March 13-15, but cookie booths can take place at any time! See GSSI's Cookie Booth Guide for more information on participating.

Important Information for Upcoming 2015 Girl Scout Cookie Program

IMPORTANT COOKIE PROGAM INFORMATION! GSSI plans to upload all Troop Leader and Girl Member information into the eBudde system later this week. GSSI send e-mail notifications once the upload has occurred.

We’ve noticed that not all troop l...eaders are correctly identified as “01 – Leader,” so we are missing some important data which may cause a delay. We encourage all Service Unit teams to go into eBudde to verify correct information for their troops after the upload is complete. This information also needs to be corrected in eBiz – updating information in one system will not automatically update in the other at this point. Please remember to input all information when registering to prevent complications in the future.

After Jan. 8, Troop Leaders will be allowed to enter in all NEW girls into the eBudde system. Upon saving the girl’s information, eBudde will prompt the Troop Leader to fill out an additional form to obtain e-mail address, guardian name and girl’s date of birth. This will allow the newly added girl to sell through the online Digital Cookie program.

For more information, please contact Director of Product Program Kelly Jansen by e-mail kjansen@gsofsi.org.
