Your Troop Can Host a Girl Scout Cookie Booth!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program has been transforming girls into G.I.R.L.s (Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, Leaders) since 1917, when Muskogee, OK saw the first-known sale of cookies by Girl Scouts.

Cookie Booths have been a common sales technique since the early 1950's, when Girl Scouts were setting up stands in the malls that were emerging across the country.

At a Cookie Booth, Girl Scouts sell cookies at area venues – popular areas include area stores, their churches, local community events, etc. It's a great way for girls to practice their leadership and financial literacy skills while working together as a team.

Council-Wide Cookie Booth Weekends:
February 24-26 - National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend (troops - place orders by 2/15)
March 4-6 (troops - place orders by 2/28)
March 10-12 (troops - place orders by 3/7)

Helpful Hints to Volunteers:

Where Can a Troop Have a Cookie Booth?

Troops can hold cookie booths at local businesses, their place of worship, community events, gas stations, etc. Troops should contact all venues for permission before setting up their booth.

Due to high demand for these spaces, Service Unit Cookie Managers will schedule the following venues: Wal-Mart, Rural King, Lowes', Flying J, Love's and Travel Centers.

The information for these sites will be uploaded into eBudde as Council Booth sites, but troops can secure any other business or location in their own Service Unit area. Troops must stay within their Service Unit jurisdiction; however that does not mean that troops have to stay in the town they are from.
Selling in another Service Unit is only allowed with written approval - troops must fill out a form and submit with a seven day grace period for approval. Troops must also visibly display their troop number and service unit at their booth location.

Enter Your Cookie Booths Into eBudde

Troops need to enter their cookie booth information in eBudde under "My Sales."   Customers are looking for Girl Scout Cookies - help them and help your troop by making your cookie booth easy to find!  Information entered into eBudde helps GSSI direct customers to your booth, makes it easy for local media to share and lets people use Girl Scouts' national Cookie Finder app to buy cookies.

Enter the Cookie Troop 100 Challenge for a chance to win up to $3,000!

How to Order Cookie Booth Cookies
  1. Log in to eBudde
  2. Go to the Transaction tab
  3. Click Add a Transaction
  4. In the Pickup box, choose a date and time. NEW - Cupboard Hours of Operation will now be shown when placing booth cookies.
  5. In the 2nd Party box, Cupboard needs to be selected. In the next box, choose the cupboard in which you plan on picking up your cookies.
  6. Enter your troop order. Make sure you put your order in as cases unless you are filling Goal Getter or Girl Delivery cookies.
  7. Click Save/Print. Please take this receipt with you when you pick up the cookies

No Cookie, Cookie Booth

Troops can even set up a cookie booth without the actual cookies!   Use media coverage around National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend to collect donations to send cookies to the U.S. Military through Operation: Sweet Treats donations. There is no inventory to manage and sales count towards girl rewards and troop proceeds!
  1. Contact your local place of worship or mom and pop stores in your community. You may not contact any businesses listed on the eBudde booth scheduler.
  2. Set up the date and time to attend.
  3. Customers support your troop and Operation: Sweet Treats; you collect funds for those donations at the booth.
  4. Enter your No Cookie, Cookie Booth in eBudde as a non-council sponsored cookie booth.

To get ideas on where to hold your cookie booth or to find out some best practices, contact our Product Program team at nutsandcookies@gsofsi.org or hop on Leaders Lounge to hear from experienced GSSI volunteers.

Missed the Initial Order of Toffee Tastic Cookies? Here's How You Can Get Some

Toffee-Tastic Cookie in High Demand! Missed the Initial Order? Here's a Chance to Get Up to 5 Cases

Because the new gluten-free cookie is a pilot cookie for our baker Little Brownie Bakers, both troops and councils needed to pre-order it. A survey went out in August, and based on that response, GSSI has an extra 240 cases of Toffee-Tastic. Any troop that did not order Toffee-Tastic cookies that wants to purchase some from the extra stock will have a chance to purchase up ...to 5 cases. Area cupboards WILL NOT have extra Toffee-Tastic cookies available to pick up. If you did order Toffee-Tastic cookies, your order will come in with the rest of your cookies.
How can Troops get Toffee-Tastic
Please complete the survey below to order from GSSI’s extra inventory. This survey will open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 and is first-come, first serve. The survey will close when the available cookies are gone. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HK5FZZT

Please note: If your troop ordered Toffee-Tastic cookies in August, you do not need to order them again. We have your order and it will be fulfilled. Also, customers will be able to order Toffee-Tastic cookies through the Digital Cookie platform until Little Brownie Baker sells out.

What Troop Leaders Need to Know About the "Goal Getter" Campaign

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is off to a strong start in Southern Illinois!  While traditional order taking ended on Jan. 31, girls can still participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program in a variety of ways.  One campaign that allows girls to continue working towards their goals is Goal Getter.

Goal Getter runs Feb. 1-15 (between traditional order taking and Cookie Booths) and is intended to help girls reach their goals and desired reward level by allowing them to keep selling up to Cookie Booth weekends. Goal Getter cards will be distributed from the Troop Leader to the Girl Scout when the traditional order cards are turned in. All sales the girls make during this time period will go towards the rewards they can earn. Girls can use this opportunity to:

• Help themselves advance to the next reward level.
• Contact those customers they may have missed during initial order taking.
• Brainstorm with their troop to find new customers.
• Promote the Gift of Caring program: "Operation Sweet Treats"

This is an additional way to help Troops deplete their cookie inventory as cookies sold through Goal Getter are distributed out of Cookie Booth inventory. The cookies sold during this time frame need to be recorded into eBudde under the “Other” column in the Girl Orders tab.

Other ways girls can still participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program:

Selling online through the Digital Cookie platform.  Digital Cookie is open until March 15.  If a girl in your troop would like to participate, please have her parent or guardian send their e-mail address to NutsAndCookies@gsofsi.org.

Selling with her troop at a Cookie Booth.  Council-wide Cookie Booth Weekends are Feb. 27-March 1, March 6-8 and March 13-15, but cookie booths can take place at any time! See GSSI's Cookie Booth Guide for more information on participating.

There's Still Time to Sign Up for a Girl Scout Cookie Booth

During GSSI’s Cookie Booth weekends, troops sell Girl Scout Cookies to customers at shopping centers, churches, apartment complexes, festivals, restaurants and other venues in their area. Cookie Booths gives customers a chance to get their favorite Girl Scout Cookies immediately and gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to reach a wider audience, promote the benefits of the Girl Scout Cookie program in their community and work on key business, financial and personal skills together as a troop.

To host a Girl Scout Cookie Booth, troops needs just one registered adult volunteer and two registered Girl Scouts.  This flexibility allows troops to sell in shifts or on different days and to participate even if the whole troop cannot get together.
Remaining Council-Wide Cookie Booth Weekends are March 7-9 and March 14-16. A letter has been mailed to troops that have registered. If you would like to participate in a booth weekend, the eBudde Cookie Cupboard Ordering Quick Guide will help you navigate the easy online ordering system.
If you are unable to participate in the Council Sponsored Booth weekends but would still like to host a booth outside of those dates, please contact Product Program now. We would be happy to provide cookies for your scheduled booth weekend.

Get Creative With Your Cookie Booth!

2014 Cookie Program Update From Product Program Manager Kelly Jansen

Hello Everyone!  I hope your 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Program has been fun and successful so far!  We have many more opportunities coming up that you’re going to want to take advantage of!   It’s a busy time of year, but I wanted to take a moment to share the answers to some frequently asked questions with you.

Jan 10-12 Cookie Booth Weekend
We kicked off the Cookie Program with an optional Booth Weekend on January 10-12.  It was a success!!!! Most troop leaders reported great sales which really energized their girls for the rest of the season!    Your troop can host a Cookie Booth from now until April 30!   We have Council-Sponsored Cookie Booth Weekends Feb. 28 – March 2, March 7-9, and March 14-16.  Troops can also host a Cookie Booth outside of these dates – contact me at kjansen@gsofsi.org for more information.

Cookie Club Update
Thank You for your patience with Cookie Club.  There was an issue with some girls not being able to log into the system.  Little Brownie has fixed the issue so please inform your Troops that Cookie Club is now working.

Goal Getter Program Starts Feb. 3
GSSI’s Goal Getter Program begins Feb. 3. Goal Getter allows girls to extend the time they sell to reach their goals (and the next reward level). Girls should have received their Goal Getter order cards when they turned in their order cards from traditional sales. Girls then return Goal Getter order card when they pick up cookies from the traditional order in mid February. (This date varies by area.) In addition, each Service Unit with Girls Scouts participating in the Goal Getter program will receive one Build-a-Bear that girls who sell an additional 20 boxes will be entered into a Service Unit drawing to win. For more information, contact Product Program Manager Kelly Jansen at 800.345.6858 or e-mail kjansen@gsofsi.org.

Goal Getter FAQ’s

Yes, girls who did not participate in traditional order taking can still participate in the Goal Getter program.  To participate, please contact Product Program Manager Kelly Jansen at kjansen@gsofsi.org.
Troops can fill the Goal Getter orders with their “extras” from traditional sales as well as with Booth Cookies.

The Goal Getter order cards will be returned back to the girl with the filled order.
Troop Leaders will turn in the names of those girls who sold the 20 additional boxes to their Service Unit Cookie Manager and a name will be drawn out at the next SU meeting.

For those troops that are not participating in Cookie Booth Weekends and need additional cookies to fulfill Goal Getter orders, please contact Kelly Jansen, Product Program Manager, at
kjansen@gsofsi.org or Katie Grayling, Product Program Assistant, at kgrayling@gsofsi.org.
